Wild Sky Gardens is an organic garden design, installation + care service based in Washington, DC.

Wild Sky uses ecological gardening practices, organic materials + native plants + shrubs to create beautiful, lush spaces teeming with wildlife.

Wild Sky believes in working with nature instead of against it + that you don't have to sacrifice beauty to support our ecosystem.​

About Jessica

​

An amateur gardener for many years, I loved gardening + learning about plants + the meditative flow state I got into in the garden. But it was after stumbling on Doug Tallamy's book, Bringing Nature Home: How You Can Sustain Wildlife with Native Plants, + learning about his Homegrown National Park movement that I became inspired to make a career of it. The vision is simple: when we all take part, we create the connected habitats that life depends on. In 2025, I left my 9-5 non-profit job to devote my time to native plant gardening.

 

I earned a Sustainable Horticulture Certificate from the University of Maryland Extension, a Landscape for Life™ Certificate from Colorado State University Extension in collaboration with U.S. Botanic Garden + completed the American Horticultural Society’s Ecological Gardening course.

 

I am a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, Wild Ones' Nation's Capital Region chapter + the Maryland Native Plant Society.
